This past month I read a book I would like to share with all of you. The name is none other than the same name of this blog! I had to read it and boy am I glad I did!

In Crystal Wisdom: Unearthing the Power of Gemstones, Shannon Marie offers a complete guide on how to use the healing power of crystals to improve your life. I just finished reading it and WOW! I have been practicing crystal healing for years now and am amazed that I am always learning new things. I was blown away by the depth of information provided, this is by no means a beginners' only guide, even the seasoned Reiki practitioner will find this guide valuable.
The author provides her journey with Crystals and the why/how she started using them to improve her own life. I started with crystals at a young age spending time with my mother, so I am always inspired by the stories of others and how crystals wove their way into their lives. Sufficient attention is given to the history of gemstones and their historical uses throughout time. I love the fact Shannon provides ample examples of how crystals have been used for healing and metaphysical properties; it is a great reinforcement for newbies to know that they are following the path of many others before them.
The other thing I loved about Shannon's writing is that she offers a holistic view of Crystal's and how they can fit into a spiritual practice. Birthstones, Zodiac Signs, Numerology, Meditation, and more are all covered. This level of depth was an unexpected but welcome surprise for a "beginners" book. The information isn't overwhelming though, it is just enough to get you started. If you are curious or wondering how crystals can fit into your spiritual practice, Crystal Wisdom will certainly help you figure out how.
And of course, a book about Crystal Healing wouldn't be complete without details about the crystals themselves! Shannon provides specific attributes of each crystal based on her practice and experience, and she also provides examples of how she or her clients have used them and with what effect. These examples are thought-provoking and inspiring knowing they are real people dealing with real issues and achieving real results. The meat and potatoes of Crystal Wisdom is the step-by-step guide on how to begin your own practice using crystals. Shannon walks us through how to choose, clean, store, charge, activate, and use them.
